Driving Directions to the Ada County Jail
To get to the booking and release facility from our office, follow this quick, direct 1.4-mile driving route (approximately 3 to 4 minutes):
Exit the Office Parking Lot: Head east on W. Emerald St. toward N. Cole Rd.
Turn Right: Turn right at the first major intersection onto N. Cole Rd. heading south.
Continue South: Drive south on N. Cole Rd. past W. Franklin Rd. (roughly 0.8 miles).
Turn Right: Turn right onto W. Barrister Dr.
Arrive at the Facility: Follow W. Barrister Dr. straight for about 0.3 miles. The Ada County Jail public lobby will be on your left at 7210 Barrister Dr.
Alternative Ways to Get to the Jail
If you do not have a car or choose to leave your vehicle parked at our office lot, you can easily reach the jail lobby on foot or by using Boise’s local public transit system.
Option A: Walking Directions (Approx. 25–28 Minutes)
Walking from our office to the jail is a straightforward, flat 1.3-mile walk along sidewalks:
Exit our office at 8385 W. Emerald St. and walk east toward N. Cole Rd.
Turn right onto N. Cole Rd. and walk south along the sidewalk.
Continue straight past the W. Franklin Rd. intersection.
Turn right onto W. Barrister Dr. and follow the pedestrian path straight down to the jail public entrance.
Option B: Public Transit / Bus Directions (Approx. 15–20 Minutes)
Valley Regional Transit (VRT) operates regular local bus routes serving the Boise Towne Square area: [1]
Walk 1 block east from our office to the W. Emerald St. & N. Cole Rd. bus stop.
Board the Route 7 (Fairview) bus or check the active VRT Local Trip Planner for real-time local schedules.
Take the bus south along Cole Rd. and exit at the stop nearest W. Barrister Dr.
Walk a brief 3 blocks west down Barrister Dr. directly to the main booking lobby.
